Festival Frolics

July 7th, 2008

Do you wanna drink?

Right the summers here and with it festival season!

When people think of festivals they rarely associate them with love and dating, but this is mainly due to the fact that people are normally wet, muddy and they’re personal hygiene may have taken a little dive due to the lack of washing facilities!!!

If you think about it though, festivals are great place to pull (put rather crudely) as their one of the few places where people are open to meeting new people. Also festivals offer an easy way for people from all over the country (maybe even further) to gather and indulge their similar passions for music, no matter how obscure their passions maybe.

People at these events do tend to have similar interests and due to the obscene amount of alcohol that is normally consumed, people’s inhibitions tend to be low, so with a few helpful tips hopefully your tent won’t be the only thing you’re erecting!

Keeping up appearances
No not the awful sitcom with Hyacinth Bucket, but YOUR appearance it can be hard to stay looking fabulous at festivals (unless your me of course!) as the security tend to get annoyed when they find people crouched over looking into a mirror in their tent, I don’t know why but they do, and you may then end up
dating policewomen but not the kind of date you intended. So if your mirrors been confiscated, try taking pictures of yourself on your mobile, you look a bit vain but personally I’d would rather look vain than have a face covered in dirt.

Share the love
Don’t spend your days there being all moody and hung over, make the effort to chat and be out-going to all people and draw attention to yourself so people want to hang out in your tent, not the tent of some fifty year old hippy with a guitar that uses the festival as an excuse to explain why he smells so bad (you smelt before you got here mate!)fab 60

Not only does it warm-up your flirting mechanism and keep it running a top-notch, but you never know who’ll be watching you. We’re all attracted to open, engaging people, so be nice, even if it kills, you, ok?

Relax with a few cool drinks.
A couple of cold ones in the sun is lovely, not only is it refreshing it helps you relax and really lower your standards, which is generally great until the morning.
But remember too many and you can end up not only losing your dignity but also your belongings, so take it easy as people also tend to get very annoyed with you if your that hammered that you try to get into some strangers tent, which you drunkenly mistake for your own.

Arrange to meet people in advance
Why not try arranging to meet people in advance for example through
Uniform Dating you can meet loads of people form all walks of life such as military singles and single firemen, so a festival would be a great place to meet up especially if you live far from one another, so what are you waiting for.

In the land of the blind date, the on-line man is king!

June 15th, 2008

As stated by the UK’s office for national stastictics, over seven million people now live alone in the UK. Families consisting of only one parent are also increasing, especially those families with single mothers. Asweel as more people now living alone of without a current partner, people nowadays are getting married later in life ‘30’s are the new 20’s’ as it were. (Full BBC article here).

Also over a half of the UK’s adult population has access to broadband now and you’ll soon realise that not only is there a  market outthere for online dating services but due to low barriers of entry and the ease it is for companies to set up sites, this need can easily be fulfilled.

Firefighter Dating

June 15th, 2008

F i r e f i g h t e r *Do you have a thing for firefighters? The uniform and all that sweaty work get you hot? Want to date a fireman but unsure of how to find one? Well don’t set light to your house just yet, as there are thousands of single firemen looking for love now at Uniform Dating.

I Love a Fire Fighter: What the Family Needs to Know

This is a new book, which has been written exclusively for fire fighters and their families. Challenging two-dimensional stereotypes, Dr. Ellen Kirschman portrays fire fighters as they really are: complex men and women doing one of the world’s toughest jobs and trying to fit comfortably into two families — the one at the firehouse and the one at home. I Love a Fire Fighter takes us on a journey from stationhouse banter to four-alarm blaze, from a harrowing ride with paramedics to a family dealing with shift work. Along the way, Dr. Kirschman addresses occupational health and safety issues along with domestic concerns including unpredictable schedules, lack of communication, and anxiety. Vivid anecdotes and practical tips show families how they can pull together when job stress threatens to spill over onto home turf, and shed light on what spouses and partners can do to help themselves, their mates, and their children live with the “best job in the world.”

 An insight into firefighter dating.

A couple of firefighters were leaving the scene of fire when firefighter 1 tells another, “hey, i saw a hottie flirting with you.”firefighter 2 says, “yeah, she was digging me. We are going out Friday night.” Firefighter 1, “didn’t you tell her you were married?” Firefighter 2 replies, “no I figured. My girlfriend doesn’t even know so why should tell her.”

So after that lovely tongue and cheek insight into how a firefighter may think, now just imagine you could be one of many girlfriends a firefighter has, so come on meet many ‘supposedly’ firefighter singles at Uniform Dating! Just kidding.

Wanted to try online dating but unsure?

June 8th, 2008

Have you ever considered online dating? Online dating is a growing industry and brings many advantages over more traditional forms of dating. Here is a just a few of the many advantages.

ü Inexpensive – Memberships on a good dating site are generally cheap especially as your time allowed on that site is normally unlimited.

ü Learn about the person quickly - At a bar you can meet someone talk to them for hours and even then never find out about important information you want to know. Amazingly online lots of people reveal it right away.

ü Larger choice - In the real world you are limited to the people that are around you but online you are only restricted by the amount of members that have signed up! Remember these people are already considering dating someone new. Could that be you? For example www.uniformdating.com specialises in dating for those in a uniform.

ü Highlight your strengths - At a bar singles see you differently. First, they will be open to talk with you if you are attractive for them, if you don’t impress in the first 15 seconds, you could be just wasting your time. Online it is different. People get to look you over and if you have created yourself a quality profile, perceive you based on your strengths and make allowances for your weaknesses then get to know the real you.

ü Time to select - At a bar if you see people that you like, you only have 5 seconds to select which one you want to talk to first. Online the members are not going anywhere and if two members email you at once you can answer both at your own pace. So if you’re after say, solely army singles you can filter non-army people out straight away!
